Summit Preparatory School is a private, non-profit, therapeutic boarding school for youth ages 14-18 with emotional, academic and behavioral challenges. The program combines a college preparatory high school curriculum with a professional, relationship-based treatment program.
The campus is located on 520 beautiful wooded acres in Kalispell, Montana, 20 minutes from downtown and 45 miles from Glacier National Park. Encompassed by 2.3 million acres of federally protected land, thousands of miles of hiking, biking, show-shoeing and sledding trails, and four unique seasons for outdoor exploration, Kalispell is the ultimate outdoor adventure mecca.
Seeking primary, direct care staff member for team of students to serve as a mentor and to assist in supporting and monitoring program progression and treatment planning. The Residential Counselor will also supervise students with a focus on student safety and program expectations, lead outings, run clubs as well as other program related activities, while providing leadership to the team and overall community.
As a team, students participate together in chores, group therapy, team activities, and team challenge trips during some breaks. The teams are designed to resemble a family, guided and supervised by Residential Counselors and under the clinical guidance of a Team Therapist.
Shifts are either Sunday--Wednesday or Wednesday--Saturday. Weekday shift hours are 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Weekend shift hours are from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.
Required: Bachelor's degree (psych/education related preferred) training or experience with adolescents, outdoor education and/or back country experience Salary, DOE. Health Benefits.
