IF SO, we currently have an exciting opportunity for the right Senior Machinist, to start almost immediately, on special projects and complex parts. The successful candidate will have exceptional knowledge of high precision machines and their capabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Plans, lays out work, sets up and operates all types of lathes, mills or grinders to machine or grind developmental, production or maintenance parts to exacting tolerances and dimensions.

- Programs perform setup and run difficult prototype and small-run production jobs.

- Interprets blueprints and drawings.

- Programs perform setup and operate both conventional and CNC mills and lathes.

- Performs such operations as turning, facing, boring, chamfering, turning tapers, drilling, grooving, reaming; machine compound angles, multiple angles, radii, splines, serrations, and keyways.

- Inspects part dimensions using precision measuring equipment

- Determines cutting tools to be used, method of holding, and machine speeds and feeds.

- Expected to mentor junior machinists.

- Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:

- Typically requires a High School Diploma, technical/trade school training or equivalent and ten plus years related experience.

- Experience in GibbsCAM, MasterCAM or Esprit.

- Working knowledge of G-Code

- Big lathe and 5-axis experience a big plus

- Strong math skill/proficient in GD&T

- PC literate

- Must be customer-focused and possess:

- Ability to perform complex set-up and fabrication of machined parts with little or no direction;

-In-depth knowledge of machining equipment including the ability to use judgment and safe practices;

-Ability to read, interpret and explain engineering drawings, sketches, and verbal and written instructions;

- Able to maintain the flow of work within the unit using independent judgment in solving moderately to highly complex problems and recommend solutions.

- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate tactfully and effectively in a technical environment and basic computer skills.

- The ability to work both independently and lead in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.

- Must be a US Citizen as defined by ITAR.
