We believe that empowering our people and helping them reach their full potential is essential for the long-term success of both Lumen and our customers.Program dates: May 30 – August 8, 2025.The Main ResponsibilitiesLumen Black Lotus Security Group is currently seeking an undergraduate or graduate level student, with a 3.0+ GPA, to join our organization for an internship engagement during the Summer 2025. In this role, you will be a part of a team that builds technology to protect the US Public Sector customers from advanced security threats. Joining our team will provide you a with a hands-on experience in cybersecurity domain, with the benefit of professional development and mentorship by senior members of the architecture and engineering organization.We are looking for a talented student with career interest in cybersecurity, threat analytics, cloud computing/virtualization and AI, to own the junior level engineering responsibilities of the Lumen Technologies Public Sector security solutions. You will connect with mentors that will coach you on the current cybersecurity challenges and the approach to developing solutions through interactions and collaboration in a diverse, multi-functional department. You will be responsible for defining and executing test procedures and creation of technical documentation You may be responsible for research, technology evaluation, or solution development for the company’s Managed Security portfolio You will gain product development experience through collaboration with your peers and other development teams on design, testing or operational implementation of security solutions Other responsibilities of intern may include: Development of threat analytics solutions to complement our security operations center tools Hands-on involvement in virtualizing security infrastructure into GovCloud environments Developing and training AI models for analytics and security threat management use cases Security product integration with reporting platforms and dashboards Assisting with hands on testing of security solutions and configuration guidelines documentation Collaboration with software development and analytics teams on requirement gathering, developing test cases using automation platforms such as ansible playbooksWhat We Look For in a CandidateProgram eligibility is contingent on the candidate’s commitment of the entire 10-week program. Required qualificationso Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior level education status at the start of the internshipo Graduating August 2025 – May 2027o Preferred fields include bur not limited to: Computer Science, Software Development, Cybersecurity and Network Engineeringo Intern must be able to work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program (May 30 – August 8, 2025) Proficiency and understanding of:o Written, oral, project management and organizational skillso Technical documentationo Presentation skillso Knowledge of project management practiceso Python, Kafka, Hadoop, Linux, Unix, RedHat, Javascripto Data Science, analytics and engineeringo Artificial Intelligence technologies including
