The City of Lincoln seeks multiple Public Health Educators II in Lincoln, NE.
Responsibilities: The Public Health Educator II at City of Lincoln is responsible for the professional and technical delivery of the City of Lincoln’s public health programs, focusing on areas like chronic disease, infectious disease, injury prevention, tobacco prevention, and wellness. Duties include: Guiding communication, social media and media efforts with the Tobacco Free Lancaster County coalition and specific task forces; Collaborating with teams of professional, technical, and support staff; Facilitating and maintaining effective partnerships with the public and other agencies; Communicating health risks and updates to superiors and relevant stakeholders in a timely and efficient manner; Reporting on performance metrics and indicators; Researching and leading initiatives to address new and emerging tobacco products and marketing tactics; Gathering, analyzing, and reporting data pertinent to public health issues; Identifying resource needs for programs and initiatives; Writing grants and detailed reports to secure funding; and other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in public health education, public administration, or related field (or foreign equivalent).
Requirements: 3 months of experience in job offered or related. Other special requirements include: 3 months of experience utilizing community-based behavior change strategies to assist public health initiatives; 3 months of experience with grant writing procedures, program development, and performance improvement strategies; 3 months of experience interpreting state and local regulations, policies, and procedures regarding public and environmental health; 3 months of experience modifying and creating instruments for research projects; 3 months of experience utilizing and analyzing survey data.
