As an Exteriors Technician, you will:

Inspect roofing systems and building exteriors for damage and perform repairs.

Clean window wells and rooftops of leaves, ice, and other debris.

Complete work orders and utilize an electronic timekeeping system daily.

What you bring to the position (minimum qualifications):

High school or equivalent experience.

Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions.

Thinking and reasoning skills.

Good communication skills.

Thoroughness and attention to detail.

Good time management and organizational skills.

Familiar with tools and machinery.

Able to lift 50 lbs.

Able to work from a ladder.

Valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.

Note: Job duties and pay are determined by level of experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Higher level positions may also:

Install and repair metal flashings, build curbs, caulk, and weatherstripping.

Determine the need for work, schedule, and perform tasks.

Inspect and diagnose information contributing to facility upkeep.

Perform roof replacements, including verifying measurements, and ordering supplies and equipment needed to perform work.

Acquire and perform estimates for projects and maintenance repairs.

Collaborate with external vendors and manufacturers and provide approval or rejection of contractors’ proposals and installations.

Train, mentor, and verify the work of others.

Contribute to fostering a positive work environment.

Motivate and encourage staff to improve.

Support leadership and contribute to the development and implementation of departmental vision and goals.

All levels will be assigned to a rotating on-call schedule and urgent situations occasionally require after-hours work.

Criminal history background check, driver’s license check, and pre-placement physical will be conducted.
