As a Utility Steamfitter/Pipefitter, you will:
Responsible for layout, design, installation, assembly, maintenance, testing, and repair of mechanical utility piping systems.
Work with high-pressure boilers and chillers, encompassing various systems such as hot water, chilled water, steam, and more.
Follow local and state codes for all piping and fitting tasks.
Operate welding equipment to perform Arc, GMAW, Tig, and oxy-fuel welding and cutting tasks.
Read and interpret system prints and schematics accurately.
Flexibility to work beyond normal shifts, 24/7 availability for emergencies, shift coverage, or other operational demands, sometimes on short notice.
What you bring to the position (minimum qualifications):
Relevant coursework, or specialized training beyond high school; equivalent experience considered.
Experience/training in welding, pipe fitting, general maintenance.
3+ years of related work experience in a utility or industrial plant with welding, steam/pipe fitting, and general maintenance.
Skilled in various types of welding, such as arc welding (ASME code), wire feed (GMAW), Tig (GTAW), and oxy-fuel processes.
Skilled in hand and power tool operation.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal codes related to piping systems and safety regulations.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Understanding of the properties of various gases, chemicals, and fuels used in industrial and commercial facilities.
Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and responding to work-related communications.
