Christian Church in Nebraska Youth & Outdoor Ministry Committee: Inspired by Gods Spirit, we seek to create radically inclusive
spaces and places for faith exploration.
The purpose of the Youth Ministry Coordinator is to help the United Church of Christ and Christian
Church (Disciples of Christ) congregations partner together in Nebraska to:
1. Short-Term (2019): Foster faith development of youth through Summer Camps at KOTR; and
2. Long-Term: Explore, design, and develop youth ministries;
Qualifications:
Fun and engaging person who loves to work with youth as they explore their faith;
Active, participating member of a UCC or Disciples congregation in Nebraska;
Demonstrated experience in positively engaging youth (K-12 grades) in youth ministries;
Demonstrated experience in positively engaging adults of all ages in youth ministries;
High school degree, or equivalency, is required;
o Masters of Divinity with a focus on youth ministries is preferred;
Competency in communication technology (e.g., Email, web site, social media);
Participated in Boundary Training in the past three years, or willing to participate in Boundary
Training within a year of beginning the work and participate in Boundary Training at least once every-three-years.
Responsibilities:
1. To promote the Summer Youth Camps at Kamp Kaleo in partnership with the Administrator at Kaleo
on the River, and Youth and Outdoor Ministry Committee;
a. To design and develop promotional materials in partnership with the Administrator at Kaleo on
the River, and Youth and Outdoor Ministry Committee;
b. To partner with the Administrator at Kaleo on the River and YOMC in all outreach, promotion,
and marketing efforts soliciting their input and feedback throughout the year;
c. Videoconference in to each camp week to welcome campers;
2. Partner with Youth and Outdoor Ministry Committee and participate actively in their meetings;
3. Partner with the Administrator of Kaleo on the River, receive KOTR Board of Directors
communications, and participate in KOTR Board meetings as requested/needed; and
4. Attend Christian Church In Nebraska Board Meetings, and UCC Nebraska Conference Board
meetings as invited.
