OverviewCardiac & Thoracic Surgery Unit Advanced Practice ProviderCHI Health – Creighton University Medical Center is in the midst of a transformative new chapter in Heart & Chest Care and we invite YOU to be a part of it.With the recent hiring of two renowned Division Chiefs in Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery, we have experienced growth within our divisions and are tailoring the way we provide care to benefit our patients and their outcomes. At Creighton University Medical Center, we are implementing a 24/7 Coverage Program for all Cardiac & Thoracic in-patient, ER Consults, Floor Consults, Triaging and Nursing support and hiring two Advanced Practice Providers to cover the night shift to work either 3x12 or 4x10.The ideal candidate would round on hospitalized patients, providing cardiac and thoracic critical care assessments in pre and post-operative surgery. The clinician will be an integral member of the Critical Care Unit Team, working with the attending physicians and other staff, providing necessary information for team-based care decision making.This exceptional position is a Night Shift, joining another member to work either the weekend or weekday:Additional Details of the Opportunity:

Active Rounding

Pulling Chest Tubes

Replacing Feeding Tubes

Checking on Vitals

Checking on Labs

Running interference for the attending Physician

Managing treatment plans

Patient Care:

Diagnose and treat various medical conditions.

Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.

Conduct thorough medical examinations and histories.

Communication:

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Provide clear and concise medical information.

Foster a collaborative and patient-centered approach to healthcare.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

Document medical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.

Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.

Diagnostic Procedures:

Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging.

Perform procedures as needed

Collaborate with specialists for further diagnostic evaluation.

Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.

Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.

Provide consultative services to other healthcare providers.

Quality Improvement:

Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.

Review and analyze clinical outcomes for continuous improvement.

Implement changes to enhance patient care and safety.

Compliance:

Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice.

Qualifications

American Board Certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty

A valid and unrestricted state medical license or license-eligible
