Data Management AnalystData Management Analyst will be responsible for developing, analyzing, reviewing, maintaining Data Management solutions for electric utility business purposes as well as providing self-service support for business users including consulting and training. The Data Management Analyst will also work with business users and collaborate with peers, and other technology teams to deliver high-quality and innovative enterprise Data Management solutions. This role will provide first level support for the company's Data Management components. While maintaining an in-depth understanding of DM solutions and technologies, it is expected that you have a knowledge of additional disciplines in the information technology field. Data Management (IM) Solution Development, Maintenance and Production Support: Collaborate with other technology and business teams to ensure integrity, security, quality and availability of DM solution delivery.Comply with data management and data governance standards and software development standards as well as organization policies, department policies and industry regulations.Self-Service Support and Consulting:Provide statistical expertise, data analysis and DM solution design support to business partners.Be and advocate for DM and help business users to adapt to and utilize the modernized DM landscape.Prepare and conduct training and workshops on DM tools/concepts and data utilization like data catalogue for business partners.System Support and Maintenance: Engaged with all facets of System Life Cycle ManagementProvide production support for DM and data asset related issues.Support Data Governance.Ensure compliance with data management standards and software development standards as well as organization policies, department policies and industry regulations.Data ModelingResponsible for designing and implementing data modeling solutions to ensure that OPPD's data is properly structured and organized for analysis. Implement business and IT data requirements through new data strategies and designs across all data platforms (relational, dimensional, and NoSQL) and data tools (reporting, visualization, analytics, and machine learning). Hands-on modeling, design, configuration, installation, performance tuning, and sandbox POC. Work proactively and independently to address project requirements and articulate issues/challenges to reduce project delivery risks. Meta Data ManagementDevelop Metadata System: responsible for developing metadata system that can store and organize metadata. Manage and Maintain Metadata System monitor system performance, diagnose and troubleshoot issues, and make necessary changes to optimize system performance. Collaboration: work closely with cross-functional teams, including Data Management, DM analysts, and business stakeholders. Collaborate with these teams to ensure that the metadata system meets OPPD's requirements and can support our goals. Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's Degree in any of the following fields Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics/Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics
A minimum of 3 years of experience in DM solution development with technical knowledge in the following disciplines: software engineering, data analysis, data visualization, data cleansing, meta data management, data quality management, database architecture, data integration, data processing and data warehousing
Experience in dealing with business partners; performing business requirements gathering, conducting DM solution support.
Experience in the deployment of enterprise data solutions.
Experience in data visualization.
Experience in relational databases and SQL standard languages T-SQL and PL/SQL
Experience with presenting DM solution overviews and recommendations
Experience in data integrity and data governance concepts
Familiarity with source control and code management
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Excellent technical and professional communication skills both verbally and in writing
Must be able to work independently and effectively collaborate with minimum supervision
Must possess exceptional organizational skills, creative problem solving skills, and flexibility in changing priorities
Desired:
Experience with analytical tools and concepts like R, Python, SAS, AI and Machine Learning
Experience with ETL tools like Informatica
Experience with data reporting/visualization tools like IBM Cognos, Tableau or Power BI.
Working experience in the electric power utility industry
