AECOM is seeking a Lead/Trainer to oversee the daily activities and responsibilities of assigned shift personnel and shift duties within a 24/7/365 traffic operations control room which is located in Omaha, NE.  As a secondary function, this position will also develop and deliver a comprehensive and innovative training program in support of daily control room operations.  This position is responsible for ensuring strict compliance with standard operating procedures, quality control and personnel management.  Applicants will need to be professional, dependable, self-motivated, and possess prior experience overseeing a staff of 3 to 6 team members.  Applicants will also need to possess prior experience with training content development, training delivery and facilitation of a recurring certification program.   The qualified applicants will need to clearly demonstrate their knowledge of Nebraska’s Interstate and Arterial Road Network and basic proficiency with computer and communication systems.   Applicants will also need to confirm their willingness and ability to work in a 24/7/365 operating environment, which may include weekend, night, and holiday shifts.This position is responsible for overseeing assigned shift personnel in the successful and timely execution of their duties in a fast-paced operational environment.  Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate prior experience in leading small teams to achieve assigned objectives, ensure compliance with detailed operating procedures, maintain high staff morale, and ensure compliance with quality standards. Control Room Leads execute their responsibilities from a Traffic Management Center (TMC), located in Omaha, Nebraska.  The environment is a technological hub for traffic operations, which uses a variety of different technologies for the purpose of enhancing safety and mobility. Position Details:Managing and logging traffic incidents in an advanced transportation management system softwareCoordinating and dispatching incident response crews to incidents in a safe, timely and efficient mannerDetecting, confirming, and tracking equipment failures affecting control room operations (e.g., central system, computers, CCTV cameras, digital message signs, etc.)Coordinating with local, regional, and statewide stakeholders on all control room activities by providing essential and timely incident information and statusInforming first responders of traffic related incidents involving injury and assisting with coordination of lane closures and diversion routesCoordinating incidents (to include traffic signal system malfunctions) with local municipalities for resolution and information disseminationConduct periodic work product audits to ensure procedural compliance and staff understandingOversee shift scheduling and compliance with attendance policies in conjunction with senior managersCoordinate and track all assigned employee training for initial and recurrent trainingLead and/or participate in post-incident analysisTechnical development of initial and recurrent training programs related to Control Room Operations in a traffic operations environmentDesign and implementation of a formal, computer-based multi-level position certification programCollaboration with national training program content designers in the development of training materialsAdministrative management of staff training filesPreparation and delivery of reports on training status and results (report and metric formats) to mid and upper-level managementDesign and implementation of an operations employee performance auditing programImplementation of an employee award and recognition program based on successful completion of initial and recurrent training programsTraining facilitation to include materials development, curriculum design and training deliveryOther ad-hoc employee proficiency initiatives as assigned by the Program ManagerReadily assume duties of Control Room Operator when needed to fill staffing shortagesWork Conditions:May be subject to short or no-notice work assignments during emergency eventsRotating shift schedule, available morning, afternoons, and eveningsControlled, indoor environment with dimmed lightingSignificant periods of sitting, CCTV camera viewing and data entryHeavy volume of telephone, radio and computer usage
