Mobile Engineer

Job Title: Building Engineer/HVAC Technician$30-40 an hour based on experienceJob DescriptionThis position is located in downtown Omaha. The main function of a Mobile Engineer is to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across multiple systems and facilities. Individuals are expected to demonstrate technical expertise in one craft area such as Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations and be multi-skilled in others.Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs to the Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire Life Safety, and Control systems to ensure they meet applicable standards.

Travel between multiple facilities to ensure proper function.

Maintain responsibility for facility services including preventative maintenance, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance, general maintenance, and technical proficiency.

Clean, inspect, calibrate, and change parts to maintain HVAC systems and associated equipment at optimum performance levels.

Record readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment.

Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials, and maintain a clean and safe workplace.

Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory.

Monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors.

Comply with all safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping, and ensure safety of work areas. Recognize and propose methods to eliminate dangers and safety hazards.

Essential Skills

High School Diploma or Equivalent

5-7 years of experience in maintaining and repairing commercial building systems

Ability to analyze the operation of various Commercial or Industrial Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems, determine the cause of problems/malfunctions, and take corrective action

EPA 608 Type II Certification

Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel

Valid driver’s license

Additional Skills & Qualifications

EPA 608 Universal Certification

Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC
