I am looking for someone to help take care of quadriplegic husband.
We live in Plattsmouth. Husband is C5/C6 quadriplegic.
I'm looking for someone who can assist me in the morning with his cares. Ideally, this person would get him in his chair. This would take a fairly strong person because he's about 200 pounds. He is pretty spastic lately, so sometimes it's difficult to move him.
If you are not interested in getting him into his wheelchair, then I would still like someone to assist with his cares after I get him into wheelchair. This would involve adjusting him in his chair, giving him his medicine, help him cough, blow his nose and stay with him for a short time after I leave for work, which is at 6:30 in the morning.
It would be ideal if you are already signed up with DHHS. If not, we will do private pay. I am not familiar with average pay on such a job. We will discuss pay with you to come up with a fair price per hour. We will not underpay anyone who is willing to help.
I would really like to talk to you if you think you can help. I would also be open to hear of any other hours you can do and what kinds of experience you have in helping a quadriplegic.
As a side note, husband is a smoker. Looking for someone who is O.K. with that.
