Quality Assurance Coordinator - Henderson, NV

Under the direction of the Quality Manager, coordinates quality and food safety program and verifies documentation outlined in Food Safety and Food Quality Plans. Serves as SQF Practitioner, Maintaining HACCP and QMS Programs. The individual in this role has oversight of First of Code process of new products, Sensory Program and Elegance Guide Development, customer brands management and new line innovations and projects. The role oversees Document Control program of the plant and manages SOP reviews/development and support training needs. Drives consumer complaints and hold reduction strategies and First Time Right (FTR) initiatives. Supports continuous improvement projects for Quality and Food Safety.

Serves as Food Safety/Quality SQF Practitioner back-up. Must have or obtain SQF Practitioner Certification within six months of entering the position. Coordinates and assures Food Safety and Quality Programs are implemented properly and documented.

Serves as a leadership back-up in the absence of the Quality Supervisor, train employees in SOPs and ensure training effectiveness. Trains Lab group in testing procedures and quality and food safety programs. Serves as a SME/Certified Assessor of Quality Technical Skills Program.

Monitors Positive Release Hold PRH, Sensory Program and Materials review. Performs GMP and QFSE audits of processing and production areas and writes report of findings. Documents and enforces HACCP, GMPs and SSOPs, SOPs. Perform Raw Material inspections, place on hold if necessary and submit a Supplier Non-Conformance Report. Prepares product samples for microbiological testing, helps to interpret results, corrective actions and resolution with management staff. Performs pre-op and in-operational inspections including testing with ATP swabs, allergen swabbing and environmental swabbing.

Leads Quality and Food Safety continuous improvement projects that supports customer complaint and hold reduction. Point of contact for new product and customer brand projects.

Assist Quality Manager in data collections for monthly KPI reports, such as monthly audits, holds, environmental and microbiological testing, Customer Complaints, Product Cuttings, Process Controls and Employee Training.

Works with all the department in maintaining Document Control Program and ensure proper creation, revision and approval of documents.

Conducts internal audit of SOPs and policies to support SQF requirements. Conducts annual validations of pre-requisite programs including, Metal Detection, Allergen and Scanner. Maintains supporting documents for the Validations: Allergen Matrix, Major Allergen Declarations and the Calibration Log. Maintains lab supplies and inventory and ordering.

Verifies incoming ingredient COAs and Incoming Inspection Reports. Maintains Finished Product, Raw Material, Packaging, Vendor and Glass and Brittle Plastic Registries. Inspects facilitys glass and plastic monthly.

Support internal and external audits of the QMS and integrated quality systems. Interacts with State, Local and Third Party Auditors when plant audits are scheduled. Assist Management Staff in special projects or other duties as assigned.
