About the Job: SR Estimator - Heavy Civil/Heavy Highway
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Estimator - Heavy Civil/Heavy Highway to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
Review project specifications, plans and geotechnical reports, attend pre-bid meetings, and determine site conditions through a site visit.
Determine self-performed scope of work and subcontracted scope of work.
Solicit subcontractors and material suppliers, including potential requirements for subcontractors.
Develop bid packages for subcontractors and material suppliers and send out RFQs.
Prepare estimates by performing take-offs, setting up estimate files, and building activities & logic in HCSS estimating software.
Enter subcontractor and material supplier quotes in HCSS and make awards.
Conduct a bid review with the Chief Estimator and Management Team prior to bid day.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil/roadway estimating, including removals, grading, concrete structures, aggregate placement, asphalt paving, airport runways, and related scopes of work.
A minimum of 5 years of estimating experience using software such as HCSS, Heavy Bid, , Excel Microsoft Projects
A positive attitude and ability to work effectively with others.
Knowledge of Job safety, OSHA, Prevailing wage etc. .
Skills and Certifications:
5 years of experience with estimating software like HCSS, Heavy Bid,
AutoCAD
Excel highly proficient
Microsoft Projects
OSHA certified
