The Controller position is a full-time opportunity in the Las Vegas, Nevada region. Candidates who can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff, will be preferred for this position. This role's duties will require effectively managing self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, leading while also being a team player, generating innovative ideas, and challenging the status quo. Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time
Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly
Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
Requirements
Ability to meet deadlines
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills
3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
Be detailed, flexible, and organized
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Accrued Liabilities experience
Bank reconciliations experience preferred
Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience
Account reconciliation experience
Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
