Description Robert Half is partnering with an expanding company to find a Database Administrator with a background in complex problem solving. The Database Administrator role is a long-term contract / temporary opportunity and is situated in Las Vegas, Nevada.Your responsibilities
Improve performance with the most effective solution, such as hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes
Advise on database design, tuning options, and other potential issues
Solve database service outages as they happen during hours, after hours, and on weekends
Configure database monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms
Install, configure, and maintain all relational database instances across development, staging, and production environments
Confirm that database server topology, configuration, and maintenance meet SLA goals when designed and executed
Monitor for deviation in baseline system performance, and advise on and execute improvements to slow running queries Requirements - Practical knowledge of storage and server hardware desired
Skills in System Analysis
Comprehension of Software Design
Knowledge of EO/IR systems
Security experience
Solid understanding of Software Design Principles
Prior experience with Structured Query Language
Well-founded grasp of SQL
Solid understanding of Relational Database Design
Documentation experience
Earlier work involving relational databases
Experience with design skills
Quality experience with Deployments
Proven knowledge of database development
Good understanding of stored procedures
Strong familiarity with Database
Previous experience working with Enterprise-Wide
Expertise in operations
Foundational knowledge in Business systems
Practical knowledge of Backup Technologies
General familiarity with Integration
Deep understanding of QA Management
Design experience preferred
Wide ranging experience with data modeling
Hands-on experience with Recovery Procedures
4+ years of database experience
Proficient at adapting queries to enhance performance
Prior experience in production and on-call environments
Experience building and maintaining documentation
