Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Baker/Cake Decorator to join our bakery team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating visually stunning and delicious baked goods, with experience in cake decorating, food preparation, and pastry arts. This role involves preparing high-quality baked items, decorating cakes with precision, and ensuring all products meet food safety standards. The Baker/Cake Decorator will contribute to delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining the bakery’s reputation for excellence.
Responsibilities
Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, and other confections.
Decorate cakes and desserts with intricate designs, using piping, fondant, and other decorating techniques.
Package baked items securely for retail display or customer orders.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and work area in compliance with food safety standards.
Assist in food production processes, including mixing, portioning, and assembling products.
Ensure all products meet quality standards before presentation or sale.
Handle food safely and adhere to proper food handling procedures at all times.
Support catering events or special orders as needed, providing excellent customer service.
Experience
Proven experience in cake decorating, pastry arts, or baking within a food industry setting.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques related to baking and dessert presentation.
Familiarity with kitchen equipment, knife skills, and food safety protocols.
Experience working in a bakery, restaurant, catering service, or similar culinary environment preferred.
Strong attention to detail with an artistic eye for decoration and presentation.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
