A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

HelpCare Children's Center provides Applied Behavior Analysis therapy to individuals with autism and other neurodiversity that is person-centered using assent-based assessments, interventions, and goal planning.

Behavior Technicians work with clients in a variety of settings, such as schools, homes, and clinics. Our interventions focus on identifying strengths, building upon those strengths, and teaching skills that are socially valid to individuals and their families. Whether you are new to ABA or continuing in your practice, you will learn, grow, and advance your professional career within HelpCare Children's Center through extensive training, hands-on supervision, and ongoing collaboration.

HelpCare Children's Center requires Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification for our Behavior Technicians and covers all costs associated with maintaining certification.

Advanced behavior technicians who are working towards MA certification are eligible to apply to our Behavior Consultant supervised fieldwork position, leading toward a career as a BCBA. In this position, you will gradually experience behavioral analytic activities through the use of a portfolio and BCBA mentorship that will prepare you for your next steps.

The Behavior Technician Mission

Understand and apply the foundational techniques of applied behavior analysis

Implement ABA treatment programs under the design and supervision of a BCBA

Use clinical judgment throughout the session to adjust techniques for the best learning outcomes

Offer parent training in a helpful and nonjudgmental partnership with caregivers

Choose respectful approaches, age-appropriate, and motivating

Use a compassionate manner to de-escalate and diffuse, and get back to learning

Prioritize functional communication and develop replacement behaviors

Implement goals and collect data with fidelity

Communicate frequently and proactively with team members

Position Requirements

Bachelor's degree in psychology, child development, education, or another human services field

Experience working with individuals of various ages and disabilities

Must be comfortable driving at least a 10-mile radius

Ability to move quickly and engage in physical interventions when needed (specifically requires agility to bend/stoop, lift/hold up to 50 lbs, and to physically support the client's weight using appropriate procedures and team supports)

ABA therapy is an effective approach to behavior change and skill development. Our clients learn meaningful skills through fun and motivating teaching interactions. In a recent independent survey sent to our clients, 90% of HelpCare Children's Center clients indicated the quality of their family's life has improved since their child began services with HelpCare Children's Center.
