Seeking a Lab Assistant who will also be functioning as a Phlebotomist to join our team at Genlab. Applicant will perform services for clients on lab premises, collecting samples including blood draws, urine samples, and saliva for fluid testing. Applicant will also be required to perform administrative office duties.

Salary: $15-$25/hr, Dependent upon experience
Job Duties:
Performs proper specimen collection and labeling procedures
Maintain clean and healthy work environment
Maintain high level of customer service at client location
Must be reliable, responsible, and able to work unsupervised
Responsible for entering data of patient information
Identify patients and their personal information using their ID, documents or other means
Able to be patient and build rapport with patients
Find veins that are suitable for puncture and perform proper venipuncture techniques
Collect various samples including: Blood, Saliva, Urine, etc.
Ensure optimal quality and quantity of samples
Label samples correctly and send or deliver them for testing
Answer patient questions and provide useful information
Keep accurate records on fluid specimens and tests
Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards while working
Scanning of laboratory documents
Processing and sorting specimens
Being a reference of where insurances go, what test to order
Knowledge base of tests performed and genetic testing
Maintenance Logs/Temperature Logs
Helping with laboratory faxes
Answering phones and providing front desk customer assistance when needed
Running the autoclave/sterilization of specimens
Requirements:
CPT license required - NHA
State of Nevada Laboratory Assistant license required
CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS)
Work independently and remotely
Proven experience as a Phlebotomist or Phlebotomy Technician
Experience with effective puncture techniques
Understanding of proper patient identification methods
Knowledge of legal requirements about drawing blood, handling fluid samples and use of relevant medical equipment and material
Ability to use computers to enter information
Excellent communication skills
Attention to detail
Ability to connect with various types of patients (such as children, elderly, pregnant women) and make them feel comfortable
Diploma in Phlebotomy or extensive on-the-job training
Additional Certification is a plus
