We are looking for a medical biller for a Primary Care Practice/Family Practice/General Practice.
The ideal applicant is preferably knowledgeable and experienced in the use of NextGen EHR/billing software, but not strictly necessary.
Training will be provided for the use of NextGen but applicants already experienced with the use of this EHR are preferred.
Familiarity with other electronic health record systems and billing software is definitely an advantage.
These are not required but experience in billing for diagnostic ultrasound and radiology procedures is a very big advantage. The same is true for experience in billing for clinical laboratory tests and procedures. Applicants with experience in billing for home healthcare agencies and hospice agencies are also advantaged.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations is essential.
Duties include:
Checking patient eligibility.
Processing and submitting claims.
Interpreting ERAs and EOBs.
Posting of payments.
Sending secondary claims.
Generating patient statements.
Calling insurance companies.
Managing denials.
Analyzing accounts receivable.
Experience with provider credentialing is a definite advantage.
The position will entail sitting in front of a computer all day long, as well as taking notes. Analysis of documents will also be involved on a daily basis. Making and taking phone calls will be a regular task.
This is available principally as a full-time position that will begin ASAP. Benefits include medical insurance and paid time off during PUBLIC holidays.
Work hours are 8am to 5pm with a 1 hour break. We may be open to the possibility of part-time work but this is not guaranteed at the moment. Work-from-home options are not currently available but may be considered in the future.
The office location is in Summerlin.
New graduates of a medical billing course or other healthcare-related course (medical coding, medical assistant, health information technology, etc.) with at least some externship or internship experience are welcome to apply.
