As a Charity Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering person centered support to individuals and communities in need. You will provide emotional, practical, and advocacy support to help service users overcome challenges and improve their well being, independence, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to individuals in need, including vulnerable adults, families, or young people, depending on the charity's focus.
Conduct assessments to identify service users’ needs and develop appropriate support plans.
Work collaboratively with external agencies, partners, and service providers to ensure holistic and coordinated support.
Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress notes, and safeguarding concerns in line with data protection and confidentiality policies.
Purchase and make donations to foster homes
Deliver group workshops or activities aimed at building confidence, life skills, or community connections.
Essential:
Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to manage a varied caseload and work under pressure.
Knowledge of safeguarding principles and procedures.
Basic IT skills (e.g., MS Office, record-keeping systems).
Understanding of the issues affecting the charity’s target group (e.g., homelessness, domestic abuse, mental health, etc.).
