Technicians Position Summary:

In this role, you will inspect and repair vehicles and make recommendations for automotive repairs and maintenance. You will also answer customer questions, inform customers about shop products and services, and adhere to vehicle safety protocols. You should have demonstrated experience as an auto mechanic on cars and light trucks along with an Automotive certificate. You will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing customer vehicles.

Technician Job Responsibilities and Duties:

Identify problems with vehicles using the diagnostic equipment.

Explain automotive repairs and issues and provide great customer service.

Plan repair procedures using charts manuals and experience.

Test the functionality of parts and systems.

Perform basic auto care and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotation on factory recommended intervals.

Repair and replace brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors and other parts.

Prepared to get additional certification as needed.

Willingness to learn with hands-on training.

Keep a professional appearance.

Test drive vehicles to reproduce and evaluate customer concerns.

Diagnose intermittent drivability faults.

Provide additional aftermarket maintenance flushes and services to extend the life of worn assemblies.

Perform inspections and make recommendations for repairs.

Perform repairs according to approved procedures.

Install aftermarket performance upgrades.

Keep a clean and orderly workstation.

Assist in shop maintenance and cleaning as required.

Check vehicles to ensure compliance with state inspection requirements.

Identify pre-existing and potential vehicle malfunctions.

Work with manufacturers to order inventory.

Test vehicle parts prior to installation/repair.

Keep accurate records of completed and outstanding jobs.

Consistently meet deadlines for completed work.

Technician Requirements and Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED/equivalent required Or Graduated from a program in auto maintenance and repair.

Vocational or postsecondary program completion preferred.

ASE certification and completion of an automotive technical training program preferred.

Experience with various hand tools preferred.

Must be a team player with a good working attitude.

Strong mechanical aptitude with At Least two years of automotive mechanic work history.

Electrical diagnostic skills and experience resolving engine operating faults.

Shop equipment is provided, but you must supply your own hand and pneumatic tools.

Previous experience working in a dealer service center is desired but not necessary.

Welding and metal-working experience desired but not necessary.

Commitment to continuous improvement and ongoing job training.

Clean driving record with no DUI convictions Or Felony is mandatory for full employment.

Hold a valid driver license.

Ability to maintain a professional appearance and provide friendly customer service.

Must read, interpret and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records.

Perform routine maintenance and other tasks in a fast-paced environment.

May lift objects that weigh as much as 50 lbs.

Experience as a lube technician or prepared to do on-the-job training.

Understanding of automotive air-conditioning systems.

Ability to use the diagnostic equipment.

Experience with heavy equipment Is A Plus.

Good hand-eye coordination.

Service Writer Position Summary:

In this role, you will act as the point of contact for our automotive customers, initially greeting them, listening to requests, scheduling appointments, estimating costs, verifying insurance, conducting inspections, and test driving cars, explaining our services, and collecting payment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a compassionate and patient attitude, and can perform basic math skills. The Service Advisor will ensure customer service by working with customers to determine their vehicle issues and problems, determining the repair timeline, and working with technicians to convey the customers' concerns with accurate repair descriptions.

To be a successful Service Advisor, you should have excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills. You should also have a strong understanding of automotive technology and of the automotive industry.

Service Writer Duties and Responsibilities:

Greeting customers.

Ascertain reason for customer visit through verbal interview and visual assessment of vehicle.

Consult with mechanics regarding appropriate service options.

Develop as many solution methods as possible, attempting to keep costs low.

Explain all service options to customers including time and cost estimates.

Using your knowledge of our products and services to sell or provide in-depth information about available (OEM) part and service options to customers.

Advise customers on warranty protections and other potential cost-saving service options.

Track maintenance or repair status, fill out reports on labor and cost of all services.

Perform post-service inspection with customers and answer any questions they may have.

Ring up customers at the front desk and facilitate financial transactions.

Perform customer service duties, i.e. answering the phone, scheduling service appointments, and calling customers to inform them their vehicles are ready for pick up.

Answering questions about service outcomes and scheduling and booking appointments, vehicle drop-off, and vehicle pick-up.

Maintaining positive customer relationships to ensure repeat business.

Ensuring all details on services rendered and costs are related to customers and processing their payments.

Liaising with service technicians about parts ordering and ensuring parts are available when needed.

Manage shop workflow and schedule for mechanics and technicians.

Service Writer Requirements and Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required, a degree in Mechanics or a related field may be advantageous.

3+ years in the automotive industry preferred.

A strong understanding of automotive technology and the automotive industry.

Proficiency with industry-specific software.

Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Strong organizational, decision making, critical thinking skills, and problem-solving skills.

The ability to communicate with mechanics, customers, and management.

Ability to explain complicated automotive concepts to visitors who may not be familiar with industry terminology.

Compassionate and patient demeanor.
