We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Mechanic Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our automotive repair shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, excellent leadership abilities, and exceptional customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations Management:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the automotive shop, including scheduling repairs and maintenance, ordering parts, and ensuring timely completion of work.
- Ensure the shop is clean, organized, and well-maintained.
2. Staff Supervision:
- Hire, train, and manage a team of automotive technicians and support staff.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
3. Customer Service:
- Interact with customers to understand their vehicle issues, provide estimates, and communicate repair status.
- Resolve customer complaints and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
4. Financial Management:
- Monitor and manage shop budgets, expenses, and profitability.
- Prepare financial reports and analyze shop performance to identify areas for improvement.
5. Quality Control:
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance are performed to the highest standards.
- Conduct quality checks and oversee the final inspection of all vehicles before they are returned to customers.
6. Inventory Management:
- Manage inventory levels to ensure availability of necessary parts and supplies.
- Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to obtain the best prices and terms.
7. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure the shop complies with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain a safe working environment and ensure all employees follow safety protocols and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in automotive repair is preferred.
- Proven experience as an automotive technician and in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong understanding of automotive technology, repair procedures, and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
