Position Summary:
The labor position supports the day-to-day needs of each project including, digging trenches, spotting for operators, using and/or moving equipment, and trench watching while ensuring a safe and clean working environment. This position is an integral role in the success of each project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Preparing site by digging trenches, grading, drilling, and/or excavating for utilities
Digging of trenches during excavation operations using tools to include, but not limited to, shovel, rake, quickie
saw, jackhammer, and sharpshooter
Utilizing various tools and/or equipment in a safe manner
Installing and/or repairing of underground utilities
Loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment
Transporting equipment, as needed
Watching open trench
Safely climbing ladders in open trenches, while carrying up to 40 pounds
Spotting for operators
Working in a safe manner to complete work with high level of quality
Maintaining a neat and clean work area
Attending safety and job training
Wearing personal protective equipment
Responding quickly to sounds
Participating in daily tailgate meetings
Performing other duties, as assigned
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Minimum Construction OSHA 10 certification
Consistent and predictable attendance
Ability to report to work at different locations around the Las Vegas area
Knowledge of basic construction practices & procedures
Ability to maintain knowledge of systems & procedures
Knowledge of safe work practices
Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
See differences between colors, shades, and brightness
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Driver’s License with a good driving record
