Experienced Powder Coater

California Blow Pipe designs, manufactures, installs and services pneumatic paper waste collection systems for companies in the commercial printing, folding carton, corrugated box, envelope, direct mail, package printing, board converting and document destruction industries.

California Blow Pipe is currently seeking an experienced Powder Coater for an immediate opening at our Pahrump, NV production shop. We’re looking for safety-conscious individuals who meet the following qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in powder coating or a related manufacturing environment

Solid understanding of painting methods and techniques

Familiarity with safe handling, storage, and disposal of paints, chemicals, and cleaning products, including proper cleanup procedures

Ability to consistently produce high-quality Class B/A painted parts and products

Must be a resident of the State of Nevada and possess a valid driver’s license

Availability to work full-time, Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (occasional overtime may be required)

GENERAL DUTIES

Read work orders or production board to determine specified color for each job

Operate all coating equipment, including spray guns, hoppers, and booth collection systems

Inspect incoming parts for cosmetic flaws and compliance prior to painting

Apply primary and finish coats to front and back sides of products and small parts, using a limited variety of colors and paint types; adjust nozzles and pressures as needed to achieve Class B/A finish standards

Deliver consistent Class B/A finishes using intermediate application techniques, ensuring minimal cosmetic imperfections

Move materials as required and operate material handling equipment safely

Test and adjust equipment under management guidance to establish proper air/powder settings and application techniques

Identify and troubleshoot powder coating equipment and production issues in collaboration with management and appropriate personnel

Clean spray booths, guns, and hoppers thoroughly during color changes to prevent contamination

Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality

Achieve and maintain a 97% quality standard on all painted parts and products

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Prolonged periods of standing or walking may be required

Must be able to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 50 lbs on a continual basis

May be required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl during tasks

Work environment may involve moderately loud noise levels typical of a manufacturing setting
