Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
Develop, and evaluate manufacturing methods.
Use innovative and practical methods to make improvements in manufacturing methods that result in improved quality and increased productivity while maintaining a safe working environment.
Design and document tooling designs on drawings that communicate tooling requirements to toolmakers.
Performs research, design, and development of manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
Use appropriate project management techniques to ensure tools, gauges, fixtures, equipment, routings, and the CNC programs are fully defined, documented, and implemented.
Design, develop, test or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow and design layouts of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
Apply statistical methods to estimate manufacturing requirements and potential including machine capability studies, etc.
Support 5-S, efforts throughout the plant
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of personal computers and related software, including MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
CNC Programming experience is a plus.
Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic and lubrication systems
Experience setting up and operating state-of-the-art equipment.
Well versed in machine shop manufacturing processes and set ups.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
3 to 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing Engineering
