Position Overview: As a Backhoe Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a backhoe loader to perform various excavation tasks. You will play a critical role in supporting construction projects by digging trenches, moving materials, and preparing sites according to project specifications. Your expertise will contribute to the successful and timely completion of projects, ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational protocols. A skills test will be administered prior to selection!
Responsibilities:
Operate backhoe to perform tasks such as digging trenches, moving earth, and clearing debris.
Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure it is safe and in good working condition.
Work alongside the Foreman to interpret blueprints and construction plans to determine excavation needs.
Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
Communicate effectively with team members and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
Adhere to project timelines and ensure work is completed to the highest quality standards.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a backhoe operator or in a similar role.
Valid driver’s license
Strong understanding of equipment operation, safety protocols, and maintenance procedures.
Ability to safely dig around active utility lines.
Excellent hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and mechanical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
Physically capable of performing manual tasks and working in various weather conditions.
OSHA 10 certification
