We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented painter. The painter will be responsible for preparing surfaces, mixing paints, and applying coats of paint, stain, varnish, or other finishes to buildings, walls, and other structures, both interior and exterior. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of color theory, painting techniques, and materials, with a keen eye for detail and precision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and repairing imperfections
- Apply primer and sealer to surfaces before painting
- Mix and match paint colors to achieve desired shades and tones
- Apply paint or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Cover and protect non-painted surfaces with drop cloths or masking materials
- Clean work areas and tools after completing projects
- Follow safety guidelines, ensuring proper ventilation, disposal of materials, and use of protective gear
- Consult with clients or project managers to understand project requirements and preferences
- Perform minor repairs such as filling holes, cracks, or gaps before painting
- Maintain painting equipment in good working condition
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a painter or relevant role
- Knowledge of painting materials, color matching, and application techniques
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Attention to detail, ensuring quality finishes and precise work
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift/move equipment
- Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and colleagues
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations
- Ability to handle paint sprayers, rollers, and hand brushes proficiently
Preferred Qualifications:
- Vocational training or certification in painting techniques
- Experience with industrial painting or special finishes
- Basic carpentry or drywall repair skills
Working Conditions:
- May require working at heights or in confined spaces
- Work may involve exposure to paint fumes, dust, and chemicals
