We are looking for multiple automotive technicians with a great personality that can be trusted to work independently. We provide diagnostic and programming services to the collision industry. Think technician support for collision shops. Duties may include diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues. We prefer to hire an experienced mechanic that is interested in learning the diagnostic procedures and electrical systems of vehicles in an office environment. Past experience with diagnostic tools is a PLUS. We will provide you with the OE-level diagnostic tools necessary for job performance. Primary Purpose of the Position: As a key member of the asTech diagnostic team, the Master Technician will virtually diagnose and recommend repairs for vehicles involved in collisions. We also perform module programming and calibrations as needed. Your ability to effectively use OEM (original equipment manufacturer) web based information, Alldata, Identifix and web resources for automotive diagnostics and repair information. All work is performed in an office, connecting to the vehicles remotely through the internet with our asTech device.
Essential Functions
Serve as primary client contact as needed within the service process.
Proficient in identification of DTCs, faults, error messages, module corrections, etc.
Perform all necessary diagnostic tests.
Ability to quickly learn how to evaluate information and data and provide comprehensive interpretation of technical information.
Proficient in customer reporting.
Adept ability to work in a team environment.
Adequately explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include employees, clients and insurance customers on a daily and consistent basis.
Assist fellow technicians in performing technical evaluations.
Keep team management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
Office environment and computer proficiency (desk job, no hauling heavy tires or leaving with oil on hands)
Adhere to all company policy, procedure, safety and environmental rules.
Additionally, any other work as required by Company, Management, and team needs.
Minimum Qualifications REQUIRED:
A vocational school graduate with a minimum of 2 years at car dealership
OR
Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a dealership or aftermarket repair facility
Strong automotive electrical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
Ability to obtain ASE certifications. Pay is based on ASE certifications the more you have the more you will make.
Self-motivated, high energy and a client-focused perspective.
New car dealership experience is considered a plus.
Basic computer skills including knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel etc is considered a plus
Employee Benefits and Growth Opportunities
Starting pay range up to $60,000 based on ASE certifications.
BASE PAY = $31,200.00 ($15.00 per hour), plus CERTIFICATION PAY = $29,120.00 (plus $1 per hour for every ASE certification that we acknowledge). We compensate for any of the following: A1 - A8, B2 - B5, C1 and L1 ASE certifications (14 total); plus monthly incentives for top performer!
Manufacturer's certification may be considered for CERTIFICATION PAY. Expired ASE Certifications can be recertified. Not certified, no problem, talk with us about how to become certified. We are here to help you grow your career.
