Job Title: CPA Assistant
Part time: Hours depending on time of year and applicants experience
Location: Small shared office in South Reno
Rate of Pay: $12.00 to $15.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Duties
- Assist CPA with input into QuickBooks and tax programs
- Assemble tax returns and financial reports
- Typing, filing, scanning, answering phones, shredding, and preparation of client folders
- Posting of packages via UPS, FEDEX, and USPS
- Most work is in tax and accounting for small corporations and their owners tax requirements
Desired Skills:
- Good typing and general computer skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Familiar with QuickBooks
- Administrative skills, making copies and answering phones
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Some accounting knowledge and some experience in posting data to tax programs such as ProSeries Professional
Desired Characteristics:
- Strong degree of accuracy, attention to detail, reliability, and sound judgement
- Ability to handle confidential information and commitment to meeting deadlines
- Ability to prioritize assignments and commitment to meeting deadlines
- Ability to work independently and carry out assignments with minimal supervision
- Ideal candidate is a person willing to be trained and to learn in a small, fast paced CPA firm
Education:
- Prefer a person pursing a bachelors degree in accounting, and a goal of being a CPA. At least two years equivalent experience in accounting, tax and administrative work is acceptable as well.
- Current accounting students are welcome if they can work part- time during business hours
- I am willing to train, if candidate is an independent worker and a quick learner with an interest in tax preparation.
