OVERVIEW
Snyder Livestock Company is a family-owned corporations located in the high desert of western Nevada. The Snyder family has been ranching in the Mason Valley area since the 1800’s.
The company is currently seeking a Junior Accountant with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. The junior accountant will work in the accounting and finance department facilitating daily financial operations including data entry, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and assisting with month-end closing activities. This position ensures accuracy and compliance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Payable
Process and code vendor invoices and employee expense reports.
Match purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices for accuracy.
Prepare check runs and electronic payments.
Maintain vendor records and respond to payment inquiries.
Accounts Receivable
Prepare and issue customer invoices.
Record and apply incoming payments accurately.
Reconcile customer accounts and follow up on overdue balances.
Assist with generating AR aging reports.
General Ledger & Month-End Close
Record journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank statements.
Assist with financial statement preparation and variance analysis.
Help ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
Bank Reconciliation
Reconcile cash accounts and investigate discrepancies.
Track deposits, transfers, and fees accurately.
Reporting & Administrative Support
Assist with financial reporting and ad-hoc analysis as needed.
Maintain organized accounting files and documentation.
Support the accounting team in audits and annual reviews.
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
1–3 years of accounting experience or internship in a similar role.
Basic understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks or similar accounting software).
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
