Cage Cashier
Summary: Safeguards assets that flow into and out of the Cage for assigned shift. Cashes customer's checks and redeems coins.
Duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned).
Ensures that assigned bank balances at the end of each shift.
Cashes customer's checks, providing excellent customer service.
Redeems coins that customers bring to the Cage, utilizing the coin counter. Gives the customer the appropriate change due.
Redeems slot tickets for customer.
Establishes good rapport with all customers.
Adheres to proper Cage procedures when cashing checks such as ensuring that the check is properly endorsed and appears to be genuine.
Runs all personal checks through Central Credit system.
Exercises good judgment before requesting assistance from manager.
Adheres to Title 31 regulations.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Previous cashiering experience in a casino environment.
Must be able to read and write in the English language.
Must be able to handle cash, calculate accurately, analyze and account for cash and coin.
Certificates and Licenses:
Must be registered with the Nevada State Gaming Commission.
Alcohol Awareness Card required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to speak and hear.
Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time on concrete surface.
Must be able to reach, bend, stretch, finger.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must have the ability to work in a noisy, smoky casino environment.
