Certified Substitute Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and licensed substitute teacher to join our team at S.N.A.C.S. The licensed substitute teacher will play a crucial role in maintaining a positive and effective learning environment in the absence of our regular teaching staff. This position is temporary and offers flexible hours, making it an ideal opportunity for educators looking to contribute to the education of students while accommodating their own schedules. Grade levels range from kindergarten through eighth grade.

Key Responsibilities:

Classroom Management: Effectively manage and maintain a structured classroom environment conducive to learning using all the school’s PBIS strategies.

Instruction: Deliver lesson plans and instructions left by the absent teacher, ensuring that students continue to progress in their studies.

Assessment: Assess and record student progress and behavior during the class, providing feedback to the regular teacher as needed.

Student Engagement: Engage students in the learning process by encouraging participation and addressing questions or concerns.

Safety and Discipline: Enforce school and classroom rules, policies, and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.

Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with school staff, including administrators, teachers, and support staff, as well as parents and guardians as necessary.

Flexibility: Be prepared to adapt to a variety of grade levels, subjects, and teaching styles depending on the assignment.

Professionalism: Uphold high professional standards in appearance, attitude, and punctuality.

Qualifications:

Valid teaching license or substitute teacher certification in Nevada

Previous experience with children and young adults in a school setting

Strong classroom management skills

Effective communication and interpersonal abilities

Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and teaching styles.

Reliable and punctual

Ability to pass background checks and screenings required by the school or district.

Fingerprints or Sheriffs card.

Working Conditions:

Work hours are flexible, with options for both 4-hour and 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. Regular school hours are from 8:00am to 2:45pm, with 15 minutes before and after required.

The substitute teacher may be required to move between classrooms and grade levels based on school needs, as directed by the principal.

This is a temporary, part-time position with no guaranteed hours beyond specific assignments.
