Currently, we are seeking a qualified CAD Technician to work collaboratively with our fabrication shop in Anderson, California.
About The Position
Assist in the development and improvement of lumber processing equipment
Draft drawings of machinery and devices as directed
Turn engineering models into burn patterns, machine, fabrication, and assembly drawings
Model concepts and detailed designs using 3D and 2D modeling software
Take assembly models, or hand sketches, and transform them into usable drawings that are easy to follow
Modify models at the direction of engineers and others
Identify errors, appropriately ask questions or direction, when models don’t add up
Work proactively with assemblers and machinists
Take direction from engineers to effectively get products made in the shop
Provide recommendations, focusing on solutions rather than problems
Assist in the coordination of activities relative to the development of new equipment
Oversee and guide assigned projects at different stages
Continuously learn and improve knowledge of the industry and equipment
Observe, guide, and manage various projects through the shop
Continuously learn and improve knowledge of the industry and equipment
Qualifications
1 year experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD or 3D modeling software, or certification equivalent
1 year experience in the lumber industry and/or machine design preferred
Understanding of mates, configurations, and display states
Demonstrated ability to make good decisions for cost effective manufacturing
Model control: Understand and ability to maneuver models efficiently without error
Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to maintain good working relationships at all levels
Receptive to learn and advance in knowledge through critical feedback
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
