Description Robert Half is looking for an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk a reputable Transport company. To succeed in this role, you will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. This is a short-term contract / temporary to hire Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Reno, Nevada area. What you get to do every day
Corroborate documents and codes
Provide information, as requested to the sales/marketing department, shippers, customers, and other stakeholders
Assist in setting up payment plans; contact clients to help resolve payment issues
Settle bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in a variety of ledgers
Perform a variety of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks
Be an ambassador of the mission, values, and culture of the organization
Sort out payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP
Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, including skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment
Requirements
High attention to detail
Command of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field
2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
Analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
Skilled with ERP systems
Aging Reports experience
Coding Accuracy experience preferred
Solid understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)
