Caregiver, Childcare, Maintenance – $18/hr x 18 hours + $100 week

I’m a 43-year-old mother of a 9-year-old, living in a two-bedroom, two-bathroom home. I have a disability that affects me at times, so I’m looking for someone to help with housekeeping, organization, childcare, and some basic home maintenance tasks. I need someone who is reliable, hardworking, trustworthy, and good with kids.

This is a long-term (hopefully at least a year) position with set hours and expectations. Please read carefully before applying.

### Work Schedule

- Mondays: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM

- Includes 2 hours of childcare (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM) at $50/day

- Wednesdays: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM

- Includes 2 hours of childcare (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM) at $50/day

- Thursdays: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

- Fridays: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

- Total caregiving hours per week: 18 hours at $18/hour ($324 per week)

- Total childcare hours per week: 4 hours at $100/week ($50 per day)

The childcare portion ends on May 6th, after which the schedule may adjust, but hours can remain the same if desired.

### Responsibilities

#### Housekeeping and Home Organization

- Regular cleaning: sweeping, mopping, dusting, kitchen and bathroom cleaning, and general tidying.

- Deep cleaning and decluttering: help sort through items, organize, and suggest improvements.

- Laundry: washing, folding, and bed-making (including duvet covers).

- Surface organization: help create and maintain a tidy, functional home environment.

- Food prep: chop vegetables, occasionally prepare simple vegetarian meals, and make extra portions for lunches.

- Attention to detail: follow instructions for handling specific items and tasks.

#### Childcare

- School pickup: must have a reliable car and valid driver’s license to pick up my daughter from school (6 blocks away).

- Activities: homework help, snacks, cleaning her room, and teaching her basic chores.

- Always stay productive: When watching my kid, continue with light housekeeping/cooking tasks unless you are doing something productive with them like helping them with homework.

#### Home Maintenance

- Basic yard work: weeding in a small gravel front yard and dirt backyard.

- Light repairs: patching nail holes, painting, hanging items, and assembling/moving furniture.

- Pet care (Included with childcare payment because it is specifically excluded as a caregiving duty): feeding dogs once a week and changing cat litter (monthly, it's an automatic litter box with cartridges with lids).

- Trash management: take trash and recycling to the back alley bins (a short walk).

-

### What I’m Looking For

- Someone kind, ethical, and hardworking who can take initiative without needing constant instructions.

- Comfortable around pets: I have two friendly dogs (40 lbs pittbull and 60 lbs pittbull/lab mix) and a small cat who occasionally escapes (but always comes back). The smaller dog is old and likes to be left alone to nap. The bigger dog is hyper and will try to get pets, jump up (not on) while your standing, and sit on your lap if you sit down. The dogs can be kept separate from you while your working but they have to be inside on Thursdays after 11 a.m. (the poop scooper company comes).

- Must be okay with a secular environment and avoid discussing religion or politics while working.

- Comfortable with occasional light personal care assistance like helping with getting in the bath (I stay dressed, undress in the bath, and then dress before I get out, but sometimes I need help getting out of the tub when my hands don't work well enough to use the bars), putting on socks, or washing hair.

- Handy and willing to tackle small home projects like painting, patching nail holes, hanging art or organizing closets.

-

### Qualifications

- Must be over 18 and pass a background check.

- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and a safe, reliable car for school pickups.

- Able to pass a basic physical, TB test, and fingerprinting (required for agency onboarding).

- Must be detail-oriented, honest, and able to work independently.

- Onboarding costs about $100 with the company, but you'll make that on the trial days.

-

### Additional Details

- Trial days: March 30th and 31st, paid at $18/hour, to ensure compatibility.

- Childcare: Paid separately at $50/day, even if less than 2 hours is required.

- Pet sitting opportunity: March 23rd–29th (optional) for additional income.

- Vegetarian household: no fancy cooking required, but familiarity with simple vegetarian recipes is a plus.

- Clutter level: manageable (about a 4/10), but needs organizational help.

### How to Apply

If this sounds like a good fit for you, please text me for a link to the application form. The form will help me get to know you better and streamline the selection process. I will take applications for a week and get back to you as soon as possible, even if I don’t think it’s a match. It's a long form, you don't have to fill out all the questions. Just pick and choose what questions you think best shows who you are. I always hated interviews cause they put you on the spot with limited questions, so I'm trying to avoid that.

I’m looking for someone who’s nice, dependable, and proactive. Experience with your own home or kids is enough—no formal caregiving experience is required.

Feel free to text me anytime, day or night! I keep my phone on silent when sleeping, so late-night texts are fine. I look forward to hearing from you!
