This position will be on third shift (11 p.m. - 7 a.m.)Job OverviewThe Supervisor will be responsible for constantly monitoring all work activities and taking action to resolve problems as they occur. He/She will be required to supervise the orientation and training of new employees and evaluate their progress, administer provisions of the labor contract and assist in resolving any grievance issues. The Supervisor must ensure safety rules are adhered to and promptly report and investigate any incidents, maintain production schedules, prepare work orders and notify maintenance of any equipment malfunctions or breakdowns. The incumbent of this position will schedule overtime as required to meet production requirements, and direct the workflow to alternate work centers when necessary. He/She will expedite parts to meet production requirements and strive to maintain good relations and communications with all levels of the organization. Must ensure good housekeeping is maintained throughout the facility.Qualifications/RequirementsThe ideal candidate will have a minimum of thee years supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing facility and good working knowledge of machining and/or welding operations. Familiarity with SAP would be a plus. Good computer skills, including Microsoft World and Excel are a must.
