BPR Consulting Group (www.bpr-grp.com) is seeking an experienced Public Works Inspector to join our growing company and serve our clients in the South Lake Tahoe area. This is a limited term position from May to October.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of or experience in the inspection of variety of public works construction activities. This position will work on a variety of projects, provide daily reports, and produce meeting minutes from pre- and post-construction meetings and other reports as necessary to document activities.

Essential Duties:
The essential duties noted below are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, functions, and skills. They are intended to be a summary of key job responsibilities and duties.
1. Perform inspections on a variety of public works projects including paving, grading, and drainage.
2. Assist with RFI and Change Order review.
3. Interpret and apply laws, regulations, codes, ordinances, and policies governing the construction of public works projects.
4. Maintain detailed records and information to include daily inspector’s reports and digital photographic records of work.
5. Responds to public inquiries; provides information within the area of assignment; investigates and resolves citizen complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
6. Review project plans and specifications for completeness, accuracy and compliance with city standards and specifications; recommend changes and improvements as appropriate.
7. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
8. Perform all work consistent with BPR’s and Clients policies and procedures.
9. Provide all services in an efficient, proactive, and client focused manner.

Desired Qualifications:
Ten (10) plus years of increasingly responsible experience in construction inspection, project administration or public works maintenance. Experience with a municipal or county jurisdiction is preferred.
Knowledge of Manual Uniform Traffic Control Devices
Comprehensive understanding of City Standards and Specifications and other applicable regulations and standards related to construction inspection.
Familiarity with Cal Trans standards
Experience with Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) regulations and permit processes, stormwater management, and implementing Best Management Practices (BMPs).

Salary: $50 - $65 an hour
