Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.As a director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision future improvements to the architecture.Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. Are you an experienced people manager for a role to have a bigger technical and business impact? We are looking for a Senior Manager with cloud experience to join our development team. The ideal candidate will be technically strong and must have an understanding of large-scale distributed systems. In addition, you will have a good experience of taking a cloud service from start to release. This role will drive the technical and business aspects of our product definition, contribute to the product strategy of our solutions, and drive the development of next generation Platform system services and features for the Oracle s IaaS cloud environment.As a Senior manager, you will lead and manage a team of software development engineers responsible for ensuring that our cloud infrastructure solutions are designed and built with the highest level of scalability in mind. You should be comfortable to architect broad service interactions, at the same time being hands-on, able to dive deep into any part of the stack. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, geographically distributed agile environment as headquarters will be in the Seattle area, and be excited to deliver major services and features in the hands of our customers. The following will be your job responsibilities:Direct responsibility of leading a team of 7-10 software development engineers. You will promote a culture of success, pride, performance, discipline, and creativity as the leader of your team.You will allocate resources, set priorities, and manage schedules for the team. You will work across the platform organization to define and provide inputs to the technology strategy, infrastructure and architecture vision that supports the successful execution of the product roadmap and business strategy.You will exhibit very good communication skills and a drive for transparency within team.You will demonstrate a keen sense of urgency and ability to meet target timelines, and resolve issues.You will help foster innovation by leading the OCI values Put customers first, act now, iterate, nail the basics, expect and embrace change, take risks, remain calm, don t be a jerk, and owning without ego.QualificationsAt least 10 years of software development experience, out of which recent 3-5 years in the cloud services development environment. 5 years in the management roles.Impeccable integrity , strong drive and alignment to OCI values with outstanding communication skills. You have proven ability to build trust by your teams and senior leadership.Proven success having experience in the startup environmentAbility to hire outstanding software developers in a competitive environment. Proven ability to motivate, align, and manage high performing, happy and empowered developers.Deep understanding of distributed computing and cloud-based platforms.Preferred QualificationsMasters in Computer Science or related engineering fields.Strong experience and detailed technical knowledge in PaaS (Platform as a Service) engineering.
