Main Responsibilities
Set up and maintain traffic control zones (cones, signs, barricades, flagging) according to ATSSA standards
Direct and control vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely around work zones
Inspect and adjust traffic control devices to maintain safe flow
Communicate with crews and drivers to prevent accidents or delays
Follow OSHA safety regulations to protect workers and the public
Identify and report hazards in the work area
Certifications Explained
ATSSA (American Traffic Safety Services Association): Certifies workers in traffic control and flagging operations — ensuring compliance with federal and state safety guidelines.
OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration): Certifies that the worker understands workplace safety standards, including PPE use, hazard recognition, and emergency procedures.
Skills & Requirements
Strong understanding of traffic safety laws and procedures
Attention to detail and quick decision-making
Communication skills to coordinate with crews and drivers
Physically fit to work outdoors in various weather conditions
GENERAL LABOR
Main Responsibilities
Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials
Clean and prepare work areas for projects or production
Use hand tools and small equipment as directed
Support skilled workers such as carpenters, machine operators, or technicians
Follow safety rules and wear proper protective equipment
Perform simple repairs or maintenance as needed
Carry out other duties assigned by supervisors
