Entry Level Forklift operator job description:
We are looking for a Marine Forklift Operator and Truck Driver to join our team. The primary
responsibility of this role is to learn to operate the forklift in a safe and efficient manner in order
to move boats and materials around and between our facilities. The ideal candidate should have
an aptitude and willingness to learn to operate a marine forklift, and willingness to obtain a
Class A Commercial Driver license. They should also have good communication skills and the
ability to follow instructions. Ultimately, the Forklift Operator and Driver role serves as an
essential part of our overall operations team, helping ensure that boats and materials are moved
from one location to another in an organized, timely and safe manner.
Forklift operator responsibilities:
Operating the forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
Moving boats and materials around the warehouse or marina facility.
Loading and unloading trucks with boats, materials or products.
Performing quality checks equipment.
Ensuring that the forklift is clean and well-maintained.
Following all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries.
Communicating with other employees and supervisors to maintain an organized work
environment.
Assisting with other marina tasks as needed.
Required Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver’s License
Must be able to pass requirements for DOT Class A License
Heavy Equipment operation aptitude and willingness to learn
Ability to lift heavy items, up to 80 lbs. or more
Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
Attention to detail and willingness to learn how to perform quality checks on equipment
Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with other employees
and supervisors
Willingness to learn safety procedures and ability to follow them at all times
Willingness to assist with other tasks as needed
Overall, the Forklift Operator and Driver role is an essential part of our operations team, helping
to move boats and materials around and between our facilities in a safe and efficient manner.
The ideal candidate for this role should have a willingness to learn how to safely operate a
marine forklift, the ability and willingness to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver license,
willingness to learn safety procedures, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
