Position: Defensible Space Tree Climber
Pay: $40-$50 per hour DOE
Reports to: Defensible Space Operations Supervisor
Position Overview:
As the Tree Climber you will be responsible for the more complex tree removals and pruning where an experienced climber is necessary to complete the job safely and efficiently.

- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
- Ability to occasionally work in a high stress - fast-paced environment
- Must consider safety and courtesy high priorities
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Must demonstrate the ability to adapt to environments and situations
- Ability to lift and carry 50-100lbs
- Minimum 3 years of tree climbing experience including pruning and removals preferred
- Preferably 3 years experience in the Arboriculture industry
Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
- Climbing trees using approved climbing equipment according to ANSI Z133.1 industry standards
- Trimming, pruning, and shaping trees and shrubs according to ANSI A300 industry standards
- Static and dynamic cabling, bracing, bolting, guying trees and branches
- Specialized skills needed to operate and perform general maintenance on equipment such as a chipper, stump grinder, and chainsaw, and other various tools safely and responsibly, according to ANSI Z133 and company standards.
- Ability to tie tree industry knots
- Skill to hoist tools and equipment, safely lower branches with ropes, use a block and tackle
- Daily inspection of all personal climbing and safety equipment including ropes, saddle, PPE
- Learns, understands, and adheres to all safety rules and company safety policies, participates in all safety training sessions offered, asks questions, and improves job safety skills
