Boutique up-and-coming residential interior design firm in the Tahoe area is seeking a Junior Interior Designer to join their team. We specialize in designing high-end custom homes with clients that value detail, depth and quality. Our projects are often complex with a high level of collaboration with contractors and sub-contractors over a multi-year period and we wouldn’t have it any other way! We are one of the only local interior design firms with a commitment to learning about and incorporating sustainable practices and products into our designs without sacrificing the clients vision.
Job Role Details:
- Work in Truckee, CA office 5 days a week between Monday-Friday
- 30-40 hours a week
- Opportunity for flexible hours / remote work may be considered after a trial period
- Compensation based on experience
Requirements:
The ideal candidate must have:
- Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture
- 1-3 years experience at an interior design or architecture firm.
- Ability to read and understand building plans with a general knowledge of construction
- Ability to both collaborate successfully with others and work independently
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- An interest in sustainable and healthy residential interiors
- Ability to maintain organization of tasks and follow-through without prompting
- A reliable vehicle and experience driving in the snow
Proficiency in:
- Autocad
- Revit (rendering is a plus)
- Sketchup (rendering is a plus)
- Office software including Excel and Word
Tasks:
- Maintain sample library and general office administration
- Assist senior team members with the following:
Develop and maintain design visuals for presentation
Create and maintain project drawings through all stages of development & construction documents
Develop and maintain schedules, product specifications, and budgets
Create compelling presentations that support the project narrative
Attend meetings and conference calls as needed in order to take notes and organize tasks
Incorporate redlines into project documents
Collaborate successfully with team members to support project goals
