I run a custom furniture studio in south Reno and looking to build up my team. We work with metal, wood, ceramic, textiles and electronics. Current projects range from sign making, product development, gifts, and shop maintenance to a multi year long design and build out of an entire house. This is a great opportunity to deep dive into a specific skillset or learn and explore new mediums. I try to blend everything from century old hand tools to modern 3d printers, laser engravers, cnc machines and fusion 360 CAD for design and rendering.

Responsibilities:

Execute highly detailed projects according to specifications, blueprints, or client requirements.

Utilize a variety of materials such as wood, metal, glass, ceramics, or textiles to create intricate and unique pieces.

Operate and maintain tools, machinery, and equipment required for crafting.

Follow established techniques and processes to achieve precision and accuracy in every project.

Interpret and implement design concepts into finished products with utmost attention to detail.

Perform quality checks and inspections throughout the crafting process to ensure adherence to standards.

Make necessary adjustments or repairs to achieve the desired outcome.

Stay up to date with industry trends, new materials, and techniques to enhance craftsmanship skills.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a craftsperson or in a similar role, showcasing exceptional attention to detail.

Proficiency in working with various materials, such as wood, metal, glass, ceramics, or textiles.

Strong knowledge of craftsmanship techniques, tools, and equipment.

Ability to interpret and understand technical drawings, blueprints, or design concepts.

Meticulous and detail-oriented approach to work.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.

Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Formal education or certification in a relevant craft or trade.

Experience working on custom or bespoke projects.

Portfolio or samples demonstrating your craftsmanship skills.

Willing to train the right candidate
