We are seeking an experienced and reliable Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of Class 8 trucks, trailers, and heavy construction equipment. You’ll play a vital role in keeping our customers' fleets and equipment in top operating condition, minimizing downtime, and ensuring safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and other mechanical components on Class 8 trucks and heavy equipment
Perform preventive maintenance inspections (PMIs) and DOT inspections
Troubleshoot and repair air brake systems, DEF systems, emissions systems, and electrical faults
Use diagnostic software and tools to identify issues and perform accurate repairs
Maintain detailed service records and complete work orders accurately
Ensure all work meets safety and environmental standards
Occasionally perform mobile service calls or field repairs as needed
Collaborate with service manager and other mechanics to prioritize repairs and maintenance schedules
Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic (Class 8 and/or heavy equipment experience preferred)
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrain components
Proficient with diagnostic tools and computer-based troubleshooting
Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varying weather conditions
Must supply own basic tools (specialty tools provided)
Strong attention to detail, safety-first mindset, and reliable work ethic
Preferred Certifications (Not Required)
ASE Certification(s)
OEM or dealership training (Cummins, CAT, Detroit Diesel, etc.)
DOT Inspection Certification
