Job Title: Audio/Video/Low Voltage/Prewire Technician
Jobsite Locations: Reno and North Lake Tahoe/Truckee
Job Type: Full-time/Part-time
Projects are 90% Residential 10% commercial
Job Description:
TEC Communications specializes in residential Audio, Video, Network, Video Surveillance, Motorized Shades, Manual Shades, HVAC Control, Lighting Control, Lighting Design, Integration, etc. Looking for a technician with experience in these areas, willing to train if you have a good attitude and work ethic. Experience with power tools/residential construction is a must if you don’t have specific experience in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Read TEC created plans and prewire low voltage per plans to complete prewire/rough in
Build AV racks per plans/schematics at TEC shop in Reno
Terminate and test low voltage cabling at jobsite
Load equipment in TEC van and deliver to jobsite
Install AV rack and all electronic equipment consisting of TV’s, Speakers, Cameras, WiFi access Points, Thermostats, Temperature Sensors, Touchscreens, Projectors, Motorized and Manual Shades, Etc
Qualifications
A good attitude and willingness to get the job done
Ownership of a complete set of hand tools and basic Low Voltage tools of the trade
Ability to read technical plans, specifications, and diagrams
Knowledge of home wiring
Excellent communication skills in English (bilingual in Spanish is a plus)
Strong, self-motivated, and efficient work ethic
Must be able to work well independently and with others
Highly detail-oriented
Personal dedication to safety
Requirements:
Clean driving record
Pass drug test (illegal drugs) and full background check
OSHA 10 certification within 30 days
Must be willing to work in crawlspaces, attics, and on top of tall ladders
Compensation:
Pay DOE $17-$35/hour
After 6 month probationary period; Health insurance, company gas/credit card, cell phone
