Job Summary:
In this crucial role, you'll be responsible for leading our team of mechanics and ensuring our fleet of street sweepers are operating at peak performance. You'll wear many hats, from scheduling maintenance and repairs to managing inventory and overseeing parts ordering. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will help foster a positive and productive work environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for the street sweeper fleet
Manage the day-to-day operations of the shop, ensuring smooth workflow
Oversee, delegate, and schedule tasks for mechanics and other shop personnel
Identify and diagnose mechanical issues with street sweepers
Manage parts inventory and ensure timely ordering of supplies
Maintain accurate records of service and repairs
Communicate effectively with mechanics, drivers, and vendors
Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and protocols
Motivate and mentor the shop team for continuous improvement
Budget and manage shop expenses
Qualifications:
Minimum of [5] years of experience in a shop management role, preferably in the automotive or heavy equipment industry
Proven experience in preventive maintenance program development and implementation
Strong working knowledge of street sweeper systems and components (hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead and motivate a team
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience with shop management software (preferred)
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
