We’re seeking a reliable, skilled mechanic to join our team in the Truckee area. You’ll diagnose, repair, modify and maintain mechanical equipment at customer locations — providing professional, on-site service with integrity and dealer precision.
The ideal candidate will possess the necessary tools, a strong background in mechanical repair, maintenance and diagnosing. This role requires proficiency in working with systems, including electrical, mechanical, and powertrain components. Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, inspections, modifications and repairs on a variety of makes and models of vehicles, also including, RVs, Boats, Trailers, Power Sports Equipment, Small Engines, Heavy Equipment and Fleet Services.
- Handle routine maintenance (oil changes, brakes, tires, radiators, batteries, etc.) and more advanced mechanical work, including full engine replacement.
- Communicate clearly with customers and document all work performed
- Manage your own schedule and maintain professional standards
- Provide your own tools
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
- Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
- Repair and replace components including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete repairs efficiently.
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to assist in troubleshooting complex problems.
- Work on diesel engine repairs and ensure compliance with safety standards during all maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used for each vehicle.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle's needs and repair options.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance workflow efficiency and ensure timely completion of repairs.
Qualifications
- Wage increases upon ASE Certifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on mechanical repair experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Own tools, vehicle and diagnostic equipment preferred
- Proven experience as a mechanic with a strong understanding of mechanical diagnostics and repair techniques.
- Dealership experience is preferred but not required; familiarity with GM vehicles is a plus.
- Proficiency in working with mechanical electrical systems.
- Experience with welding is a plus; ability to handle various hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical information from schematics and manuals.
- Excellent customer service skills to build rapport with clients and explain technical issues clearly.
