Local trucking company looking for a full-time assistant to the dispatcher; someone who is detail oriented, communicative, respectful and committed to the Job. The dispatcher assistant will have the responsibility of assisting in directing and coordinating the pickup and delivery of local/regional shipments of various commodities.
Duties will also include communicating with our customers to record their requirement and planning/adjusting routes to maximize the efficiency of all trucks. Dispatcher Assistant is also responsible for keeping records and monitoring driver's working hours and equipment availability.
Truck Dispatcher Assistant Responsibilities:
Assist in dispatching for pickup and delivery of cargo to/from customers, terminals, warehouses, and other locations/facilities.
Update daily reports
Scheduling drivers to make freight deliveries or collect shipments and packages.
Communicating with customers about freight details, delivery or pickup times, and special handling requests.
Ensure that the needs of the customers are known, respond to them, and problem solve.
Truck Dispatcher Assistant Requirements:
1-3 years of experience as a TRUCK dispatcher assistant a must!
Knowledge of transportation regulations and laws.
Must have valid drivers license
Excellent communication, Multi-tasking, Organization and time management skills.
Requires a high level of attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
Must be able to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers by providing accurate, courteous, and timely responses to questions or concerns.
