Ventura Transfer Company is looking to find a passionate team member to fill the role ofÂDriver Loader!
The Driver Loader has a CDL and is tasked with representing the company professionally and providing excellent customer service while transporting cargo safely to customers.Â
Major Responsibilities
Provide transportation of customers cargo including liquid & dry bulk, and intermodal containers
Operate company equipment safely on public highways, company property, and at customer facilities, and in compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies. Equipment includes:
Pumps
Compressors
Blowers
Meters
Fittings & hoses
ELD
Facilitate the loading/unloading of liquid and dry bulk from railcar into tank trucks/shipping containers
Complete loads accurately and on schedule
Maintain inventory of fittings and other loading equipment
Follow all SOPs and work order instructions to make sure loads are completed correctly and safely without contamination, spill, or other incidents.Â
Operates safely and adheres to mandatory PPE requirements
Read and interpret paperwork accurately
Be the face of the company to the customer and provide excellent customer service. Is respectful of others
Maintain accurate records including truck tickets, bills of lading, fueling receipts, and drivers logs.
Receive or ship product to and from the warehouse
Load / Unload trucks using a forklift
Properly store and receive product in the warehouse
Properly select and organize products for removal from inventory and ship
Accurately complete all associated documents such as bills of lading, inventory
Maintain accurate inventory
Unload supersacks
Handle gaylord boxes
Safely operate forklift in observance of all policies and SOPs
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Must maintain all driver qualification requirements and be able to physically qualify and obtain a Medical Examiners Certificate. These include
Tanker endorsement
Hazmat endorsement
Must be able to driver for long periods of time
Must be able to report for dispatch at a specified time and maintain contact with dispatch as required
Minimum 3 years experience working in a Transportation, Distribution, or Logistics operation
Must be able to understand mechanical processes and solve problems
Required leadership skills include the ability to motivate and influence others, focus on teamwork, and an emphasis on continuous improvement. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven experience as forklift operator
Forklift Operator (2+ Years Experience)
Physical Requirements
Able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to walk, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, squat, and climb, as necessary to perform vehicle inspections and load/unload cargo.Â
Must pass a pulmonary function test (PFT)
Able to work outdoors and tolerate extreme weather conditions such as rain, heat, or cold
